To Know Oneself
The journey from zero to infinity
When one wonders about the depth that lies within the ocean of their soul, it is revealed that what we experience about ourselves is hardly 1%. Just as we haven’t discovered the functions of our body, our planet, our solar system, and we are trillions of light years away from discovering the Universe, perhaps just a fraction of it, as it keeps evolving.
The world outside of us is not separate from the inner world, infact, they are one and the same. Our perception creates this distinction to help us function and perform our roles. Every soul is born for a certain purpose, hence, God provides them with a certain amount of knowledge. One cannot simply attain what they are not meant to. For example, an astronaut can only travel as far as their space ship allows them.
Each creature has been uniquely designed and has immense potential, especially, the human soul. There is a heirarchy in the universem but there is no discrimination or injustice, the way we see in our world. All events are dependent on the decisions made in the mystical realm.
When one believes that this is their only life, they begin to feel anxious about death and try to hoard as many things as possible. This greed only makes one miserable and imprisoned. In order to be liberated from the restraints of the mind, one has to first begin to doubt what they know.
What you are witnessing in this moment, is only a reflection of your inner state. Even though you might be convinced that you are sitting on a couch, reading an article on the internet, somewhere in your house, but that is what your mind is telling you.
In a deep meditative state, one begins to eject from the plane of individuality and loses themselves in the infinite space, the realm where one has emerged from. Some call it nothingness, and some call it Self. What’s in a name? As Shakespeare once said.
Truth is beyond name, image, sound or light, yet, it exists, and desires to be known.
